  • CIBC making its annual push for breast cancer research support through the Run for the Cure

The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is celebrating an important milestone, and North Bay has been a proud part of that journey for many years.

CIBC has supported the Run for the Cure for 30 of its 34 years, marking three decades of partnership, hope and support for people and families affected by breast cancer. It is a milestone that reflects just how much can happen when organizations and communities continue to stand behind the same cause.

North Bay’s Longtime Support

For 22 of those 30 years, North Bay has hosted its own Run site. Year after year, local residents have shown up with incredible energy, generosity and creativity, turning the event into much more than a fundraiser. It has become a community tradition where people come together, share their stories and show their support for those affected by breast cancer.

Over the years, North Bay has found plenty of fun ways to bring the colour pink into the community. From Pinky Promises and Real Men Wear Pink to the pink taxi at U-Need-a-Cab, a pink hotel room at Pinewood Park Inn, pink patios and drinks, virtual runs and even pink cowboy hats, residents and local businesses have continued to find new ways to get involved.

These creative efforts have helped give the Run its own special character in North Bay, while also reminding people that support can come in many different forms. Whether someone is running, donating, volunteering or simply wearing pink, every contribution helps keep the conversation around breast cancer going.

Mission Pink Possible

This year’s theme, Mission Pink Possible, is another chance for North Bay to show its spirit. After more than two decades of taking part, the community has already proven what can happen when people work together for something bigger than themselves.

The organizers are looking forward to seeing how North Bay brings the theme to life and once again fills the community with that familiar sense of togetherness.

Join the Community on Run Day

The next Run for the Cure takes place on Sunday, October 4. Everyone is invited to take part and help make the day memorable.

After years of support, North Bay continues to show that a community can make a real difference when it comes together. Mission Pink Possible is not just a theme – it is a reminder of what can be achieved through hope, generosity and collective effort.

See you on Run Day, North Bay – let’s make this year another one to remember!
